# Introduction

Forage JS is a front-end JavaScript library for processing EBT payments. You can use the library to add the following EBT checkout operations to your website or app:

* Store tokenized EBT card numbers for future use
* Check the balance of an EBT account\*
* Capture an EBT payment

[`EBT Elements`](https://docs.joinforage.app/reference/ebt-elements), secure Forage-hosted entities that accept and submit customer input, enable these transactions.

*\*Skip the balance inquiry method if your site offers guest checkout. FNS prohibits balance inquiries on sites that offer a guest checkout flow.*
